Sleep Apnea Treatment for Adults

Screening for sleep disorder/apnea is easier than you think.

If you snore (or your partner complains that you do!), feel tired all day, wake up with headaches or dry mouth, have trouble staying asleep, or experience irritability and brain fog, you may have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can be extremely dangerous and lead to heart problems, stroke, or even death.

If you think you or a loved one might be suffering from sleep apnea or an airway issue, we can help:

N

Provide an easy, at-home sleep test (see comparative image)

N

Complete a comprehensive sleep and airway evaluation using 3D cone imaging to determine the correct course of treatment

N

Determine if the issue is really sleep apnea, actually upper airway obstruction, TMJ, TMD, or a tongue-tie

N

Prescribe a custom oral appliance to help develop the airway or perform a corrective procedure or therapy

N

Assist coordinating with your physicians and/or other providers to develop a proper treatment plan

We offer a non-invasive treatment that slowly widens the airway and can solve your sleep problems.

Let’s find and treat the root causes of your sleep and breathing issues so you can live a fuller, healthier life!

Sleep Apnea Treatments for Kids

Screening for children is just as easy!

If your child wets the bed, struggles with night terrors, or has been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, their issues could be connected to their airway. Under-developed airways in children can lead to speech problems, sleep-disordered breathing, sleep apnea, problems in school, and other chronic diseases. If an underdeveloped airway is caught early, it’s much easier to treat.

Frenuloplasty/Tongue-tie Releases

If your child (or you!) can’t stick their tongue out past their lower teeth or have trouble moving their tongue from side to side or to the roof of the mouth, they may have a tongue-tie—a too thick or too short connection between the underside of their tongue and their mouth.

Tongue ties in babies can cause them to not be able to breastfeed properly. Not only does this make eating  difficult, it also inhibits the development of the sinuses, upper and lower jaw, and airway. Tongue ties in children can lead to speech and eating problems, sleep apnea, and even migraines.

Children and adults can also experience constant lower back and neck pain as a result of a tongue tie.

Sierra Sleep Airway and Wellness Center will help identify this condition and get you to an experienced provider that can help address the problem.

By releasing a tongue tie it can:

N

Improve breastfeeding

N

Increase tongue movement to be able to eat and play wind instruments more easily

N

Help with speech issues

N

Make it easier to brush their teeth

N

Avoid further health complications

Help your kids or yourself overcome the difficulties attached to tongue ties to live a healthier life!

Myofunctional Therapy and Referrals to Other Medical Providers

Tongue tie release procedures are always combined with myofunctional therapy. This therapy is extremely important in training the muscles of the tongue and mouth before and after the procedure so that the treatment will be successful and you can experience all the benefits of a tongue tie release. Sierra Sleep Airway and Wellness Center will refer you to an experienced myofunctional therapist that will support you through the treatment.

There may be other situations where we need to work with other medical providers to make sure you get the best possible treatment for your individual plan. Whether you need a myofunctional therapist, craniosacral therapist, speech therapists, or an ENT, we’ll refer you to a trusted provider in our area.

Transform your breathing. Transform your life.

Sierra Sleep Airway and Wellness Center can help you get there.
